The woman at Jacob’s well or when did we see You thirsty?
by mc
A man comes to me
He asks for a drink
Asks it of me
How could this be?
He knows I’m unclean
And where would I draw?
This well is too deep
My reach is too short
It’s too short to reach
The water beneath
Perhaps I’ll just leave
Then He says to me
The water you seek
The water I bring
They’re two different things
I want you to see
I want you to drink
Deep of me
Then turning to me
He says “Would you think
Of times in your life
When I’ve asked before?”
I asked for a drink
Or asked to be clothed
Or asked to be heard
Or asked to be loved
Or asked for some food
Or asked to be warmed
Or asked to be healed
But you turned away
Because I was poor
Because I was weak
Because of the germs
Because of the stink
You didn’t have time
You had things to do
And people to see
And meetings to make
And emails to write
And parties to plan
And presents to buy
But nothing for me
The songs that you sing
The prayers that you pray
The worship you bring
Seem so empty to me
The water you seek
The water I bring
They’re two different things
I want you to see
I want you to drink
To drink deep of me
The water you seek
The water I bring
They’re two different things
I want you to see
I want you to drink
To drink deep of me
Please bring water
Please bring water to me
I want to drink
I want to see
I want to sing this water
Drink this water in deep
I want to be
I want to drink
And then believe
This water
Please bring water to me
Jesus comes tired
He asks for a drink
Asks it of me
How could this be?
He knows I’m unclean
And where would I draw?
This well is too deep
My reach is too short
It’s too short to reach
The water beneath
I can’t even speak
Then He said to me
The water you seek
Is the water I bring
When you’re looking for me
In the least one of these
I AM he
With whom you speak

Lift Up Your Heads

|

Lift Up Your Heads, You Mighty Gates
Words: George Weissel, Music/arrangement: Mike Crawford
Fling wide the portals of your heart
Make it a temple, set apart
From earthly use for heaven’s employ
Adorned with prayer and love and joy
Unbar the gate, fling wide the door,
Your heart to God's design restore.
Adorn its walls with all things right, With peace and love and joy and light.
Lift up your heads, you mighty gates
Behold, the King of glory waits
The King of kings is drawing near
The Saviour of the world is here!
Redeemer come, with us abide
Our hearts to You we open wide
Let us your inner presence feel
Your grace and love in us reveal
Your Holy Spirit lead us on
Until our glorious goal is won
Eternal praise, eternal fame
Be offered, Jesus, to Your name

O Come, O Come Emmanuel
04:17
|
|||
O Come, O Come Emmanuel
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee O Israel
O come, Thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
And drive away the shades of night
And pierce the clouds and bring us light
O come, Desire of nations, bind
All people in one heart and mind
Bid envy strife and quarrels cease
Fill all the world with heaven's peace

The Dawn Will Break Upon Us by mc Jan 1st, 2010
God raised up a horn
Our salvation born
Down from the line of kings
Who prophets spoke and angels sing
He came to save from certain death
To shine His light - His name our breath
To break the bonds that hold us back
So we might give where others lack
Unto us a child is born
To us a son is given
Dawn breaks on frozen hearts
Darkness fades the world restarts
From the warmth of that sun
Ice will melt – healing comes
And all the walls that we built
Dams torn down - the water spills
From our eyes and from our hearts
Overflows to every part
Unto us a child is born
To us a son is given
And He will be the hope of all
And He will reign forever
And of His peace will be no end
And of His grace will be no end
And of His love will be no end
And we will all be called His friends
Unto us a child is born
To us a son is given

In The Bleak Midwinter
11:21
|
|||
In The Bleak Midwinter Words: Christina Rossetti, 1872 Music: Cranham
In the bleak mid winter,
stormy winds made moan,
earth stood hard as iron,
water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow,
snow on snow on snow,
in the bleak mid winter,
long long ago.
Angels and arch angels
may have gathered there
cherubim and seraphim
thronged in the air;
but his mother only,
in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the be loved
worshiped with a kiss.
What can I give him,
poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd,
I would bring a lamb;
if I were a wise man,
I would do my part;
yet what can I give him
give I my heart.

There’s a Voice in the Wilderness Crying
There’s a voice in the wilderness crying,
A call from the ways untrod:
Prepare in the desert a highway,
A highway for our God!
The valleys shall be exalted,
The lofty hills brought low;
Make straight all the crooked places,
Where the Lord our God may go!
O Zion, that brings good tidings,
Get thee up to the heights and sing!
Proclaim to a desolate people
The coming of their King.
Like the flowers of the field they perish,
The works of all decay,
The power and pomp of every nation
Shall pass like a dream away.
But the word of our God endureth,
The arm of the Lord is strong;
He stands in the midst of nations,
And He will right every wrong.
He shall feed His flock like a shepherd,
And fold the lambs to His breast;
In the pastures of peace He will lead them,
And give to the weary rest.
And give to the weary rest.

Wake Up
04:00
|
|||
Wake Up by Lori Chaffer
the sun, the moon
the stars all began to swoon
before today the world wasn’t quite right
cause the darkness had a deep appetite
you could not see humanity
breath a sigh that all would be well
cause sometimes in the muck you can’t tell
----------
wake up wake up wake up baby
we’re all banking on you being a mystery
we’ll probably try to tame you
like we try to tame the sea
crazy
-----------
and so they came
maybe they knew they were partly to blame
for all the loneliness and suffering
cause they never quite could keep themselves clean
then they found
a little baby who just made baby sounds
only a wise guy could see
it would take the innocent to set us free

Ring Out O Bells
06:27
|
|||
Ring Out, Oh Bells by The Shomees
Ring out, oh bells
Into the night
Into the streams of quiet light
Into the slowly sleeping town
Into the sea, into the sound
Ring out and find
The Christ Child lay
Loosely wrapped in dark estate
By birth and blood and love impart
A peace to every human heart
Arise! Awake! A welcome sight
For peace and love have come this night
Ring out and tell a Life to come
Ring out and bring the Saving One
Ring out, oh bells
To dearly oppressed
Lend your voice and give us rest
While pain and hatred come undone
Our souls will rise, salvation come
Arise! Awake! All people blessed
To find the King in humbleness
Ring out and tell a Life to come
Ring out and praise the Saving One
Ring out, oh bells
Drown out the wars
Sing love to those who trust the sword
Sing peace when we crave violence
Sing hope where we have given in
Arise! Awake! All people blessed
To find the King in humbleness
Ring out and tell a Life to come
Ring out and praise the Saving One

O Holy Night
03:32
|
|||
O Holy Night
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine, O night, O night divine
Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love, and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name
Christ is the Lord, O praise His name for ever
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine , O night, O night divine
O night divine , O night, O night divine

Silent Night
06:19
|
|||
SILENT NIGHT
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, All is bright
Round yon Vir - gin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so Tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleleu- lia
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born.
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at thy birth,
Jesus Lord at thy birth.
